About Credit Onramp

A guide to real credit card options for applicants without a Social Security number.

The question we're built around

Most credit card guides answer a broad question like "best cards for international students." That's rarely the question you actually have. Your question is more specific: given the identification you have, your income, and whether you have any U.S. credit history yet, which cards are you realistically eligible to consider. Every page here is organized around that narrower question, because that's the one that actually helps you decide what to do next.

How we handle what's certain and what isn't

Some things are clearly published by issuers — an annual fee, a minimum deposit, whether an ITIN is accepted. We state those plainly. Other things, like exactly how an issuer weighs an application internally, are not published, and we say so rather than guessing. Being honest about what isn't known matters more here than sounding confident, because a wrong "you'll qualify" costs you a hard credit inquiry and a rejection you didn't need.

What we don't do

We don't promise approval for any card — no site honestly can, because the final decision is always the issuer's. We're not a bank or a lender. And we never ask for your full Social Security number, ITIN, passport number, or bank details on this site. Applications happen directly on the issuer's own secure site, never here.

Keeping information current

Card terms change without much notice. Every card page shows the date its details were last verified, and every card links out to the issuer's own current application so you can confirm the latest terms before you apply.
